Local editions and CME licensing

Local Excerpted Editions

Local excerpted editions of an OUP medical journal contain article selections from multiple issues and are published several times each year. Publishing a local edition is an excellent way of bringing relevant, breakthrough research and medical content to healthcare professionals in your country.

Via our flexible licensing options as a licensee, you can:

  • Select articles and abstracts that focus on topics of interest in the country of distribution
  • Publish the articles in English or translate them into your local language
  • Use the Society branded cover of the journal on your local edition
  • Publish commentary from a regional KOL to bring your local edition alive - commentaries can appear in text, video or QR code format
  • Choose from flexible distribution options - print, online or simultaneous publication

Each local edition is licensed exclusively per country and proposals are subject to OUP and Society approval.

Licensing medical journal content for Continuing Medical Education (CME) courses

Oxford University Press publishes highly ranked journals from a number of prestigious Societies. Licensing content from high impact factor medical journals for your CME makes a course invaluable to healthcare practitioners.

Our streamlined licensing solutions for CMEs make the process easy and guarantee a successful course:

  • Abstracts and articles can be licensed for both print and online courses
  • Content can appear original language or can be translated
  • CME can include commentaries from key opinion leaders in the local language, questionnaires and certificates
  • Use of Society and OUP branding is subject to approval. Societies do not endorse CME courses - they act as content providers
